Kwerkee Quirks!

How COOL are these vintage book wall clocks?!
Makes me wish I owned all my fave book titles to mount them on every wall in my house.
Random but creative finds like these make my day. If I weren't on such a tight budget now, I'd definitely buy 'em!
Because we should always share the good stuff in life..
Do check out this Kwerkee website for awesome buys like this!
That web is gonna leave you drooling for random beautiful things you might not need but want anyway. Getting email updates from them makes me excited to see the latest innovative products on sale.
Yup, had to clean up my drool a couple of times while surfing that site. Hehe.

Enjoy shopping & have a good week!

Some interesting links for you guys to fill up the week in between! Xxxxxoooo

  • The world's first honest resume. "Skills: All computer programs known to man, except for Microsoft Word. That is where graphic design goes to lay down and die."

  • A summary of logo trends just out.

  • This is a great DIY tutorial for a berry lip stain/color! I'm so gonna try this over the weekend. (& try not to snack on it too much while making it lol)
  • Woah. Karl Lagerfield's kitten has 2 maids & a personal diary of her own?! Read more about it here.

Moodboard

Y'know how some people have mood-boards for whatever projects to inspire them?
Well this tumblr is my digital mood-board full of typo, photography, shoes, fashion, travel and beautiful people.

I hope it inspires you as much as it helps me lay out the thoughts in my head.

Visuals really speak louder than voice sometimes.

Ode to Apple

Someone once told me something interesting: Notice the 3 most notable men in history changed the world because of one common thing... an apple!
Adam, Newton and Steve Jobs.

That's it, I'm gonna start carrying apples around me or su'm. Start planting apple trees in my beautiful garden.  Plant a beautiful garden. Find an empty ground to call it my garden. And hope my neighbor doesn't notice a strange girl digging around the trees during the day.
Sounds like a plan ;)

Embroidered X-Rays

To Matthew Cox stitching has a nurturing aspect and acts as care giving or healing to the injured, a socially feminine sort of action, while the x-ray itself can be considered masculine and unemotional.
One tactile and labor intensive, the other technical, and quickly a finished product. There’s a wide historical context, one ancient, decorative, and artisanal, the other contemporary and devoid of aesthetic intention. By simply placing one of these materials on top of the other the understood purpose of each is redefined.

In the end,

we're all just bones and feathers.

I've seen a lot of things being made into accessories but gold bones/teeth? Woah gimme some of that.
Now I know what to do with my wisdom tooth when I finally pluck (pun intended) up my courage to have it extracted.
Just kidding. How gross would that be?
But if i coat it in gold paint and wrap it in wire and oxidised gold chains...
Okay so maybe just half-kidding.

P.S. Just got back from a Jakarta wedding during the weekend.

Good thing about marriages : Everything. I love taking one day just to doll up for it, then stuffing my face with yummy hotel food, taking pics with loved ones, weeping for joy when they say their vowes, eating more food, meeting new people, eat and drink some more, being merry...

Bad thing about marriages : My 20 year old biological clock suddenly time travels to 30 and makes me wish I can get married and have kids NOW, like now. One moment I'm loving being single and living life que sera sera and suddenly it's like bam, I wanna get married soon omg what if  no one wants me omg I don't wanna grow old alone nooo I want kids too omg lemme go adopt a baby now!
It's such a weird feeling to have as a youth/young adult that it's not even funny.

1 2 Watch 4

Check out this new street style blog called Four eyes!
I like the people they feature and how each detail of the outfit is captured..
More visual treat for your eyes. Yes, all four of 'em. ;;)

And this remix is pretty cool as well! I've tried mixing sound and music and all that jazz for dance tracks or videos b4 but could never mash them well.. Time to trade dance class with Amos for sound-mixing lessons!

Dukey love

T by Alexander Wang for Fall 2011's collection- all about layering shine with dull (silver & grey) & chiffon with opaque and there's an awesome black cape hood outerwear that looks like what a fashionable superhero would wear!

Alexander Wang, my fave designer!

On a side note, I've been thinking about fruits. A LOT. And here's one of the wise (?) things I was thinking of:

Q: What did the lovestruck pie say to the apple?
A: You're the apple of my pie!

GET IT?! HAHA

Okay here's another one of my thoughts:
So you know how we humans want to come up with the nicest fruitiest colorfulest freshest way to show people how much we love them right?
Well I just learnt that the fruit pomegranate represents love!

So next time you can just tell your loved ones:
'I POMEGRANATE YOU!'
And start showering your loved ones literally by raining down pomegranate fruits on them as they sleep and then shout out 'SEE HOW MUCH I LOVE YOUUUU' and join in their shouts for joy because they must be feeling the weight and impacts of your love.
(Even if they sound like they are in pain and are shouting for you to stop. They must be so overwhelmed by your love! At this point, you know they feel your love so don't stop showering them with pomegranates just yet- you want your love to really sink in!)

So don't hesitate, appreciate someone today! ;)

One sign at a time

A designer was going to get his haircut when he saw the barber's sign on the door.
After getting his hair cut, he did up a new sign for the barber.

He's making the world a more beautiful place!
Haha you know what to do next time you get a hair cut ;)

Wanna hold your hand

I'm loving Planet Blue! It's the kind of stuff I would sell in my shop when my shop gets up.
That's right, for the millionth time, my shop will be up by april, I kid you not.
I'll post more updates here just in case there's any one who is still interested and sweetly believing in me. Bless your patient heart. :*

But just take a look at the jewelry! Unpolished gems at its best!
I love the raw feel of it. Like just dig up any quartz and wire it into a ring and there might be a wedding. Speaking of weddings... Valentines' is coming up!

Hahaha how cute are these monsters and their lines?
Even monsters need a lil' love~

TIME FOR NEW GLASSES

(click on pic for bigger view)

Also I saw on a website some pretty funny but honest facts that make you go : 'Soo darn right!'

1. I think part of a best friend’s job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn’t want to nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

9. I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t at least kind of tired.

10. Bad decisions make good stories.

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren’t going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? **** it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voice mail. What did you do after I didn’t answer? Drop the phone and run away?

25. How many times is it appropriate to say “What?” before you just nod and smile because you still didn’t hear or understand a word they said?

Last one that is the most omg-so-true thing:

32. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey – but I’d bet my bottom dollar everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!

Kenny

This is what is would be like if there were a 4th main character in Harry Potter's books collection.
Haha such a killjoy, that Kenny.
It would have been soo soo different if Kenny was really included in the series lol

What an interesting man.
If i could, all my basics would be from his collection.

'Recent photo of a little boy visiting the White House. He wanted to feel Obama’s hair because he wanted to know if the President’s hair felt just like his. Obama obliged. Priceless'

Awwww.
I would love to have a meal with him to find out what he's really like because 50% say he's awesome, 50% say he sucks.

No matter how he's like he is still inspirational :)

FREE YOUR MIND

Because change is constant and it is only good to change and upgrade and move on to the next level and adapt to the times now, no?

Apple's original logo (newton and the apple on the tree!)

1976's Apple logo

Current Apple logo

So the way to go to some place new and better is to drop away the old.
Back in En Vogue's time, people said their outfit was horrible and irrelevant but they believed they had the fashion sense of 2010 and isn't fashion these days like that of the video now?
Look at the leather thigh-highs and Gaga-esque head gear and high-waisted pants. Magic.

'I wear tight clothing, high heeled shoes
It doesn't mean that I'm a prostitute.
I like rap music, wear hip hop clothes
That doesn't mean that I'm out sellin' dope no no no'
