Marina Abramovic and Ulay started an intense love story in the 70s, performing art out of the van they lived in. When they felt the relationship had run its course, they decided to walk the Great Wall of China, each from one end, meeting for one last big hug in the middle and never seeing each other again. In 2010, Marina performed ‘The Artist Is Present’, a minute of silence with each stranger who sat in front of her. Ulay arrived without her knowing it and this is what happened.
This is so moving.
The emotions you can see in their eyes.
After all the years of separation, a brief 1 minute meeting that reconnects them once again.
All the words that they've been wanting to say since they parted.. Are all spoken through their eyes.
Was it joy? Was it loss? Was it longing? Was it relief?
This scene felt too private to watch, like I was intruding on a moment so personal and significant.

Can I give you an exclusive behind-the-scenes pass to see how this animation was done?
First up: Planning is super important, because it starts the timeline and work flow proper.
Fail to plan and you plan to fail. So true. (Good thing Josh was really detailed in the planning!)
Josh met Din and myself to discuss the storyboard and well, ideas just flowed out naturally and we got what we had today: A video about dreams. Dream to dream. Dream within a dream? Inception!
Haha okay more like Din-ception. (Get it?)
Din, the super illustrator, sketched out all the works at lightning speed. It was an enormous pressure on him because his drawings will make or break the video (since this is a purely-animation video). I blinked only once and I heard he's done with colouring it. Now that's what I call talent!
Josh then painstakingly cut out the drawings bit by bit, layer by layer. He also sourced for the music and did the layout of the various scenes. As he is the creative director of this video, it was important to have the same vision so the video will really bring across the message in our hearts accurately.
Thank God we flowed well and could understand whatever picture we were trying to paint out!
So I got the files and started animating them. This is the part I dozed off during my work, danced at night and stuck matchsticks around my eyes to keep them open while I animated the video through the night. Rendering, playing with particles, guessing the music timing- my days and nights blurred together. I won't tell you how many hours of sleep I got in total that week of the camp (though you can count on one hand) but because it was a God inspired project, I found the strength and motivation to finish it.
Truly, when God gives a vision, He will provide the provision and grace you will need to see you through.
Honestly, I would have just crashed and gave up halfway if it weren't for the fire burning in my heart.
I'm so blessed to have this opportunity to be a part of the limitless movement & sharing it with the church, because while I was doing this video, my dreams got revived.
And that's how this video is able to inspire others to remember their dreams too.
After all, you can only share what you have experienced for yourself.
Thank you for taking time to read this and I hope that as you are watching the video, you will dare to go to the deepest part of your heart and pull out that buried dream once more.
If God has given you a vision, He will give you the provision.

'Won't you give our love a chance, or do you only wanna dance?'
Can you imagine what its like to stay away from your phone for 2 hours just to focus on your work- only to find 16 text messages and several other whatsapp messages after?
Apparently, my phone attracts a big part of stress into my life. Which is pretty true lol. Whenever I stare at my phone now, I can only heave a little sigh.
But then again I'd get lonely and uneasy if my phone stops ringing..... Okay okay can't complain.
So when I start to feel all the tension clouding up my head, I take a deep breath and listen to great songs online. Music really has a way to soothe your soul and transport you into a world where you are flying for 4 mins. The latest favorite of mine is this video right here.
Loving The Civil Wars even more after this fun rendition of Billie Jean. Enjoy!
Tweed on tweed day. They weren't a matched set but I saw the blazer in my room and the pants in my mom's and just paired them up. Tweed matchmake in heaven. The photos were taken when my hair was still red but now it's back to brown again :(
And omg can't get enough of this! TOP like a boss (Y)
I don't normally do celebrity crushes but WOW. FANTASTIC BABY.
Flyleaf's a band I've been hearing since I first heard 'I'm so sick' came out. Of course I was shocked by their screaming but I love Lacey's voice so I dove into their album and found hidden gems.
They were on my playlist for a while but soon got replaced by other pop songs *hides face
But a few days ago I started hearing them again and now I can't stop listening to them.
The lyrics.. the sound... the emotions?
Who says you can only play or sing about Jesus in hymns? They aren't even ashamed to sing about God with rock music. I'm inspired.
In an interview, lead singer Lacey Sturm was asked how it felt to be in a Christian rock band and play in Las Vegas:
Well, you know what? I don’t know what you mean by a “Christian rock band.” It’s hard to say that because people all have a different definition of what that means. If it means that we’re Christians, then yeah, we’re Christians, but if a plumber’s a Christian, does that make him a “Christian plumber?” I mean we’re not playing for Christians. We’re just playing honestly and that’s going to come out.
Fish scales. That's what billy said my necklace looks like. That's what I think it looks like. That's why I bought it for 3 bucks. That's why my room is so full of (not so useful) stuff. That's why a few kids from africa should live with me. That's why I need to re-pack my clothes to give away (uh I packed it a month ago and within the month, the clothes monster came and made the whole room messy again. not my fault.) That's why mermaids are extinct now. That's why my necklace had to be made out of silver fish scales instead. Did I say that's why I bought it? For 3 bucks or should I say, for a plate of chicken rice?
And that's why I'm a fan of Bruno Mars. His voice, his words, his music.
Check out this new street style blog called Four eyes!
I like the people they feature and how each detail of the outfit is captured..
More visual treat for your eyes. Yes, all four of 'em. ;;)
And this remix is pretty cool as well! I've tried mixing sound and music and all that jazz for dance tracks or videos b4 but could never mash them well.. Time to trade dance class with Amos for sound-mixing lessons!
Current inspiration: warm sunshine colors, treehouses, summer breeze and some happy music to top it off.
Working on my portfolio now- gaining as much inspiration as possible (read: spending more hrs than needed surfing random websites) but golly so many talented people out there making me feel a little.. Nevermind. Hearing Eliza Doolittle sing to me 'I don't care what the people will say' and watching the cute retro music vid sure chases away the inferior blues.
Have a good weekend XO
"You gotta pack up your troubles in your old kit bag and bury them beneath the sea"
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Many people don't know/think it but dance IS an expression of self and is sometimes the best way people know how to communicate without talking.
During this difficult time, what Japan needs is people who are willing to be there for them.. To let them know that they are not alone and to help them through it all- even if just through dancing.
My heart goes out for Japan.
I want to go over there to help in any way I can (be it cleaning up the debris, providing food, setting up safe places, encouraging them, praying for them, hugging them, etc) but man, 1.7k is not something I can afford. Ugh, times like these I wished I saved up my money instead of eating all those waffles and fries and ice cream and clothes and shoes.
