I really lke how basic the clothes are but at the same time with a little twist (like cut-outs) on them, and how nicely tailored they seem.
Amazing how a little good lighting, suitable location and ggorgeous styling can make things so desirable.
Reading up on consumerism and advertising now. So many thoughts running through my mind. Indeed, knowledge is power because I can see the veil being lifted from my eyes as I educate myself further into this shady depth of our consumer culture.
Don't worry, I'm not getting cynical of the world and its branding.... Yet.
Can I give you an exclusive behind-the-scenes pass to see how this animation was done?
First up: Planning is super important, because it starts the timeline and work flow proper.
Fail to plan and you plan to fail. So true. (Good thing Josh was really detailed in the planning!)
Josh met Din and myself to discuss the storyboard and well, ideas just flowed out naturally and we got what we had today: A video about dreams. Dream to dream. Dream within a dream? Inception!
Haha okay more like Din-ception. (Get it?)
Din, the super illustrator, sketched out all the works at lightning speed. It was an enormous pressure on him because his drawings will make or break the video (since this is a purely-animation video). I blinked only once and I heard he's done with colouring it. Now that's what I call talent!
Josh then painstakingly cut out the drawings bit by bit, layer by layer. He also sourced for the music and did the layout of the various scenes. As he is the creative director of this video, it was important to have the same vision so the video will really bring across the message in our hearts accurately.
Thank God we flowed well and could understand whatever picture we were trying to paint out!
So I got the files and started animating them. This is the part I dozed off during my work, danced at night and stuck matchsticks around my eyes to keep them open while I animated the video through the night. Rendering, playing with particles, guessing the music timing- my days and nights blurred together. I won't tell you how many hours of sleep I got in total that week of the camp (though you can count on one hand) but because it was a God inspired project, I found the strength and motivation to finish it.
Truly, when God gives a vision, He will provide the provision and grace you will need to see you through.
Honestly, I would have just crashed and gave up halfway if it weren't for the fire burning in my heart.
I'm so blessed to have this opportunity to be a part of the limitless movement & sharing it with the church, because while I was doing this video, my dreams got revived.
And that's how this video is able to inspire others to remember their dreams too.
After all, you can only share what you have experienced for yourself.
Thank you for taking time to read this and I hope that as you are watching the video, you will dare to go to the deepest part of your heart and pull out that buried dream once more.
If God has given you a vision, He will give you the provision.
Some interesting links for you guys to fill up the week in between! Xxxxxoooo
The world's first honest resume."Skills: All computer programs known to man, except for Microsoft Word. That is where graphic design goes to lay down and die."
Current song worm in my head: Colbie Caillat- Brighter than the sun. Such a cheery & catchy song!
Designers, ever met indecisive clients? I sure have. All the time. Here's some advice on how to deal with 'em in future.
This is a great DIY tutorial for a berry lip stain/color! I'm so gonna try this over the weekend. (& try not to snack on it too much while making it lol)
Woah. Karl Lagerfield's kitten has 2 maids & a personal diary of her own?! Read more about it here.
Dear Ana Ljubinkovic, your designs are simply stunning.
The pearls, the florals, the scallop hems, the pastel colors, the HOLY MOLY reindeer heels with flowers around it and the clean cuts of each clothing screams out a DREAMY SPRING to me.
Plus, your genius ideas of making a lookbook using the GIF format is so novel and fun.
looking at these pics make me want to invest in a better camera for better photographs.
staying in on a saturday is therapy for my soul... indulging in korean series dramas, hazelnut chocolates and fruit juices overload. gonna go out for dinner now b4 my body officially merges with the couch.
think pirates and the caribbean and those old sailors becoming part of the ship.
Can you imagine what its like to stay away from your phone for 2 hours just to focus on your work- only to find 16 text messages and several other whatsapp messages after?
Apparently, my phone attracts a big part of stress into my life. Which is pretty true lol. Whenever I stare at my phone now, I can only heave a little sigh.
But then again I'd get lonely and uneasy if my phone stops ringing..... Okay okay can't complain.
So when I start to feel all the tension clouding up my head, I take a deep breath and listen to great songs online. Music really has a way to soothe your soul and transport you into a world where you are flying for 4 mins. The latest favorite of mine is this video right here.
Loving The Civil Wars even more after this fun rendition of Billie Jean. Enjoy!

I'm into sheer and white and lacey at the moment. And pant suits! So want to shop but it's a constant battle between travel or shopping. Or yes, actually saving money.
I've been saying that I want to get married at the age of 21 since I was like 17?
But of course I'm just joking with my friends around me. I don't think it's realistic, esp when I've been living like a nun since God knows when.
Okay that was a joke. I can't be a nun cos I love wearing crazy and revealing clothes.
Again, that was another joke. The only revealing thing about my clothes is the big hole at the top for your head to go through. Potato sack? You know it.
Now what was I talking about before we were talking about my sex appeal (or lack of)?
Oh right. Marriage.
I've always wanted to get married young because you get to grow with the person and learn and live together, how nice would that be huh?
Yet all too soon, reality comes crashing in like waves of cold sea water on a stormy day.
I'm turning 21. Already. Before you know it, I'll have grey hair.
But the strange thing is, I'm not rushing with the urge to merge.
I'm content in a place where I am now and if I do get together with someone then all the better to share my happiness with him.
Alberto Seveso does magic once again. I have no idea how he captures ink + water so sharply. And look at how the swirls of different colors envelope each other. Wow.
I got bitten bad. By the travel bug. Is there a name for this sickness? Travelitis?
One of the only occupational hazards of my job is this wanderlust flu and I had to go and get it.
My only cure in mind?
To go to all these beautiful countries soon! Hahaha
Top of the list:
NEW YORK: What dreams are made of. My dreams anyway. If yours are filled with Mummies then go to Egypt where the magnificent pyramids are~ New York is the place for inspiration, lotsa carbs, art enrichment and some thrift shopping for sure. I should time it with NYFW to see all the fashion in action!
(I could go on and on about NY but it pretty much speaks for itself so shall not bore you with my words)
GREECE: Blue crystal waters, white sand, quaint houses, picnics by random waterholes, and mythological legends? There's just something about the mountains in Greece and all it's exoticness.. What's not to like!
MONTENEGRO: Part of the Balkans region (yes Balkans is an actual word haha), Montenegro still looks like an old historic medieval town with all its history too. I love the fact that its not over-crowded with tourists yet because they are now busy with places like Paris and all. Can't wait to go an a biking adventure next time! I'm working with a company now where you sail and sleep in a ship and bike around the country and cover more grounds to sightsee an experience their lives! Wooow.
And the strange thing about this whole travelling dream is that I don't mind going alone! Like if I can't find a buddy to tour with me then I'm all up for going alone and making new friends on the trip. Where's Felicia and what have you done to her?!
Haha seriously, it would be a whole level of adventure just going alone. Plus I'm feeling real independent so I think I can handle it. ;)
BUT of course it'll be even more fun and awesome if I had my friends with me to make all these memories!
If I'd unknowingly passed you this travel bug too.... then yay let's go on a holiday together!
